Welcome Centre

The Welcome Centre at Somaiya Vidyavihar is a project of adaptive resuse. The building was originally used by a women's cooperative for production of pickle and 'paapad'. After the organisation was shifted to a more suitable location, the place went into dis-use. The brief of the Welcome Centre revolved around the idea of creating a space for students, parents of wards and visitors. The intention was to provide adequate information about the University , it's offerings and the philanthropic origins of Somaiya Vidyavihar.
